The London Borough of Redbridge and Vision – Redbridge Culture and
Leisure Trust are pleased to advise you that the proposed second phase
refurbishment project is set to commence shortly. Alongside this refurbishment,
Vision has successfully secured funding to develop the existing cafeteria
into a new “state of the art” gym, which will replace the
existing gym on the ground floor.
There will be no disruptions
to usage of the swimming pool throughout the London Borough of Redbridge
and Vision works periods and the current swimming programme will continue
unaltered. The London Borough of Redbridge
Phase II project encompasses the re-modelling of the foyer area; refurbishment
and improvements to the current Vapour Suite, transforming the area into
a modern Spa facility; relocating the cafeteria to an area adjoining the
Spa; refurbishment of the first floor toilets; installation of a lift
for disabled users to the first floor and other works to improve access
for disabled users. The Phase II development works will commence on Monday
2nd March, 2009 and the Vapour Suite will be closed throughout these works,
which are scheduled for completion at the end of June. The work on the Vision Gym
Development Project is scheduled to start in late February and therefore
the current cafeteria will be closed when this work commences. There is
currently no planned closure of the existing gym as the aim is to transfer
the gym operation to the new first floor location when the Vision works
are completed, however if any closure of the gym is necessary, advance
notice will be given to customers. The Dance Studio will unfortunately
be out of use for up to 3 weeks during the London Borough of Redbridge
works. Vision will work closely with the London Borough of Redbridge in
order to re-programme the existing Dance Studio timetable, where possible,
to other areas within Fullwell Cross and/or other Vision facilities during
this period. More information
regarding the Dance Studio Programme as well as further detail on the
Vision and London Borough of Redbridge projects will follow. Display Boards
will shortly be erected in the Fullwell Cross Foyer as part of this process.
