Becoming a member of the centre opens up the possibility of taking part in our members only sessions. 1 year of membership is included with every RYA or BCU course so if you have just trained with us you can come down and practice your new skills.
Alternatively, lifetime membership can be purchased for £50 adults or £25 for juniors.
If you can already sail and just want to get out on the water for some practice or the simple pleasure of being out in a boat, then our dinghy hire is for you! For just £9.50 adults and £7.30 juniors, you get 3 hours using one of our fleet of boats, here in the country park.
To hire one of our sailing dinghies for a session, you must be a member of the centre and hold at least RYA level 1. To hire a catamaran, you must be a member and hold a multihull qualification. The staff at the centre are always willing to help out and there is always a safety boat on the water, but these are not instructed sessions. The Senior Instructor on the day will make the final decision on whether you can go out on the water and in what craft based on their knowledge of your experience and the conditions.
2017 prices: £9.50 adults and £7.30 juniors
2017 Dinghy Hire Session Times: Monday – Friday 9am-9pm, Saturday and Sundays 9am-5pm
Dinghy Racing:
Want to test your skills against other sailors? We organise regular races at the lake. Our staff organise the races, laying the marker buoys, controlling the start line, checking your times and ensuring the race rules are followed. Don’t worry, most people don’t take it too seriously and it’s a great chance to improve your skills on the water and socialise with other sailors. You must be sailing at Level 1 standard or above to take part.
2017 Prices: £9.50 per session
