SAILING


The Centre has a selection of sailing 'dinghies' ranging from the 2.5 metre 'Oppie' for juniors to the 7 metre Bradwell 22  for large groups.

We offer courses in RYA Levels 1-2, & 3 Seamanship Skills, Sailing with Spinnakers., Performance Sailing, Start Racing and Day Sailing. We also run RYA level 1, 2 & 3 courses throughout the school holidays with higher level courses available depending on demand. Assesments can also be carried out for GCSE.

The centre also offers sailing courses and activities to schools and groups through the youth and community programme. This programme operates at weekends, summer venings and school holidays with every effort made to cater for all organisations and individuals.

Please contact us if your school or group may be interested in joining the programme.

On a Tuesday evening between 19.00 and 21.00 we also have Dinghy Racing for those with a competitive edge. You need to be RYA level 1 or above to come along and race and we promise it is not taken too seriously.

RYA level 1, 2 & 3 Courses

These courses are run over two Saturdays between 10.00 and 17.00 with an hour for lunch. There needs to be a minimum of four participants for us to run these courses.


Saturday Afternoon Taster/Refresher Sessions

These sessions run between 14.00 and 16.00 and are ideal for those new to sailing or those who have not been on the water for a while. You need to be 18+ to take part and each session costs £15.00 per person.



Sailing with Spinnakers, Performance Sailing, Start Racing
and Seamanship Skills (non tidal) Courses Pre-requisites: RYA Leavel 3

The above courses are available and cost £158.00 which includes all RYA materials, tuition and any specialist equipment needed. You can also receive a 10% discount by booking two courses/places and a 20% discount by booking 6 courses/places.

The Sailing with Spinnakers course needs to be completed before participation in the Performance Sailing course.

Catamaran Multihull Endorsement Course

This course is for experienced level 2 or 3 sailors and runs over one Saturday between 10.00 and 16.00. The course needs 2-3 participants and costs £80.00.
